The Sideroad Farm Organic Seedling Sale is on again in 2023! We grow a wide selection of garden favourites, specifically selected and tested by the farmers at Sideroad Farm. Our seedlings are organic, plastic-free (we use compostable pots and tags) and loved by many home gardeners in the area.
The seedling sale starts Thursday May 11th at 10 am and is open during store hours (Thursday 10-6, Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-4) until seedlings are sold out. We have many many plants started this year so there is no need to all rush and line up on May 11th. We will NOT be selling plants online this year and we can not reserve plants for you. The seedlings are available only for in-person shopping. If you would like to come during less busy times, we recommend coming late afternoon/evening.
In general we recommend that plants that are not cold tolerant (peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, ground cherries, squashes, cukes and melons) are NOT planted until on or after Victoria Day long weekend. Watch the weather forecast and if there is a chance of temperatures below 5C, hold off planting.
We have a large selection of organic and open pollinated seeds available in store from Hawthorn Farm as well as carry native landscape plants from Lacewing Plants and Seedlings.
