We are hiring for the 2023 season for the following positions:

Seasonal Vegetable Field Team Members (2 full time positions available Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm) starting April or May 1 – October 31.
Farm Store Assistant (casual, very part time, Thursdays) starting April 1.

Field team members work closely with our small team of experienced farmers to prepare fields, propagate, plant, grow, harvest, wash and pack vegetables. Both outdoor and indoor work is required and much of the labour can be challenging, repetitive and performed in all weather conditions. No previous experience with this type of farming is necessary, rather we look for team members who are motivated, open to learning and feedback, and bring their positive attitude and strong work ethic to the table. Previous experience with manual labour and outdoor, physical work is considered an advantage.

The Farm Store Assistant works closely with our store manager to provide excellent service to our farm store customers who shop both online and in-store. The role includes store set up and closing, restocking, cleaning, grocery packing, and customer service/customer communication. Our ideal person for this role is team oriented, open to learning and feedback, friendly, courteous, detail-oriented and can work well during times of high pressure. They should be flexible and open to working elsewhere in our diverse operation as needed, occasionally helping our field team in our washing and packing area.

Wages start at $18.50/hour. We offer five paid sick days annually for full time staff. All team members receive a CSA box of veggies/week and a discount on all other items produced by the farm and sold in the farm store.

To apply please send a resume and cover letter expressing your interest in being part of the Sideroad Farm team, including which position you’re applying for, to:

Sideroad Farm is a mixed certified organic vegetable, cut flower and pasture-raised poultry/pork farm. We are passionate about serving our local community by selling directly via farmers’ markets, CSA and through our on-farm store. We are entering our 15th season of market farming and are happy to pass on our experiences gained to staff but do not offer an official internship/apprenticeship program. We do not have on-farm accommodation available and staff are required to find transportation to and from the farm.
