COVID-19 Update for Sideroad Farm Store
Updated April 7, 2020
As a local and healthy food access point we are committed to staying open and serving our community as best and as safely as possible through these difficult times. The Sideroad Farm Store remains open at this time on Thursday and Friday 10–6 & Saturday 10-4 for ONLINE ORDERS and parking lot pick up ONLY.
We are also offering a home delivery program as advertised here.
Covid-19 Protocols at the Sideroad Farm Store
A hand sanitizing station is now set up outside our doors on the entryway to the farm store if for whatever reason you enter our building you are required to sanitize your hands. All visitors must maintain a minimum of 6′ distance from our crew and other customers.
Note that we have no public washroom available at this time.
We are a working farm and we ask that all members of the public refrain from visiting areas other than the store front and gardens in front of the store. If your dog must be let out of your vehicle, please ensure they are leashed. Please understand that for food safety reasons and for the health of our crew, we can not allow the public to visit our production areas.
We will be pressing pause on our bulk greens program and will be prepackaging all greens and microgreens into containers. We are working with a company called Greenshift in Toronto to source the most environmentally ethical packaging. We ask that you please NOT bring containers/packaging from home into the farm store.
We have increased the frequency of our cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces that are touched by the public and staff. Our staff have been trained on proper handwashing techniques. We are practicing social distancing and have no plans to interact with folks other than our small crew and our small family.
All deliveries to the store will be left at the front of the building and delivery personnel will not enter the farm building.
Local Food Supply
The local food supply chain is committed to working together to serve our communities as best as possible. We are at the beginning of our growing season here and are going full steam ahead to grow as much food and flowers as possible for our community. You all have supported us so well over the past 8 years we have been in business here…now it is our time to support you. If we can do anything to help you and your family members out during this time, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re in this together ❤
